PREPARATION: In a medium pot, sautee the onion in the oil on low heat. When onions are golden brown, add strained plum tomatoes. Cook on medium low heat for about 15 minutes.Add 1 can of water, using the tomato tin to measure. Cook 20 minutes at a bubbly simmer. Add the kidney beans (liquid also) and cook another 20 minutes. Meanwhile in another pot, cook pasta until al dente and drain. Add pasta to the bean and tomato mixture and mix thoroughly together. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
