How to Store and Reheat Pasta Properly

Storing leftovers
Cool pasta quickly and refrigerate in an airtight container. Most cooked pasta dishes keep for up to 3 days; sauced pasta stores better than plain.
Reheating tips
- Reheat gently on the stovetop with a splash of water or sauce
- Microwave covered, stirring partway through
- Add a little olive oil to loosen plain pasta
- Avoid overheating, which makes pasta mushy
- Refresh with grated cheese or fresh herbs after reheating
Freezing
Sauced pasta and baked dishes freeze well for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and reheat gently until piping hot throughout.
